How can I dispose of invasive species such as Buckthorn and Garlic Mustard?

Invasive plants, such as garlic mustard and buckthorn, are accepted at Ramsey yard waste sites. Seeds from these plants are destroyed from the high heat either during the composting process or the burning of mulch for energy recovery.

Please remove any roots from the buckthorn plants that are to be picked up or brought to the yard waste site. The Ramsey County yard waste collection sites do not accept buckthorn plants with roots attached. Please place the roots in a yard waste container provided by your garbage hauler.

The nearest Ramsey County yard waste site is located the White Bear Township site located at 5900 Sherwood Road.  Refer HERE for complete list of yard waste sites and hours, which may vary by season.
